Cohort Default Rate

A Cohort Default Rate (CDR) is the percentage of a school’s federal student loan borrowers who enter repayment during a federal fiscal year and default on their loans within the federal monitoring period. The U.S. Department of Education uses the CDR to measure how successfully borrowers repay their federal student loans.
